Within the events dedicated to the celebration of the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the program of student self-government, the Nasikat political and legal club of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University held an inter-university debate on the theme “Urgent Social Problems: Two Sides of the Medal” and a round-table discussion entitled “The President's Way”.

The debate was attended by students of higher educational institutions of Pavlodar region. The debate took place on the following topics:

1. This group believes that students who have their own families must get tuition discounts.

2. This group believes that students should be required to go through drug tests.

3. This group believes that the Bolashak program has yielded results.

4. This group is against part-time higher education.

5. This group believes that juvenile criminals should be punished in the same way as adults.

Zhastlek Tleules and Yernar Seytakhmet were the members of the jury. Sanat Akhmet and Araylym Kamzina, students of S. Toraighyrov PSU, took the first place.

Besides, the Nasikhat political and legal club, Students' Union and student self-government administration held a round-table conference dedicated to the Day of the First President and called it “The President's Way”. It was attended by students and activists of the University.

The following students made reports during the round-table discussion: Gulzhan Bakiyeva, a MZhB-101 group student and member of the Nasikhat political and legal club; Ghabit Khafiz, a MShOOT-301 group student and the Rector under the student self-government program; Nurmagambet Zhumadilov, a PS-301 group student and Deputy Executive Secretary of the Zhas Otan Youth Wing Primary Cell at S. Toraighyrov PSU; Yernur Saghyntay, a MShOOT-201 group student and member of the Students' Union of PSU.

Students discussed the main directions of the President’s policy which has become the foundation for a stable development of the country’s independence. The achievements of Kazakhstan and its place in the world were also discussed during that event.
