On October 11, 2013, S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University hosted the annual international scientific conference entitled the VI Toraighyrov's Readings. This time, it was dedicated to the 120th birthday of our famous fellow countryman, brilliant Kazakh poet, educator and social activist S. Toraighyrov.

During the opening ceremony, the Vice-rector for Research and Innovation of S. Toraighyrov PSU, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Nurlan Yerzhanov noted that PSU deserves to be named after our great fellow countryman: “Our University is the leader in the scientific and cultural life of the region. By the very fact of holding such large scientific conferences, we prove that Toraighyrov's work is not left behind: all of us – the organizers and participants of this event - make our contributions to the development of spiritual aspects outlined by Sultanmakhmut Toraighyrov”.

This event was attended by the Director of the Arys publishing house, Doctor of Philological Sciences Garifolla Anesov, Professor of the Department of Journalism at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Doctor of Philological Sciences Mendygul Shyndaliyeva, the Head of the Department of Literature at Omsk State Pedagogical University, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Veronika Moskvina, professor of Eotvos Lorand University Andras Zoltan (Hungary). Besides, one of the guests, Professor of Dublin Institute of Technology (Ireland), Ann Murphy delivered a speech on the integration processes in the system of higher education in the era of globalization of knowledge.

The participants of the conference addressed current problems of different sciences in the field of engineering, humanities and natural sciences. Special attention was paid to the characteristic features of works by S. Toraighyrov and his great contribution to the development of our society.

“I am deeply convinced that the participants of today's conference will become the successors to the great deeds of our fellow countryman, will follow his path, the path of goodness, education and democracy”, said Nurlan Yerzhanov.
