Isabella Palange, a graduate student of the Department of German, Nordic, and Slavic+ at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA, is undergoing practical training at Toraighyrov University.

- This year I came to Kazakhstan at the beginning of summer, and this is my fourth visit to this country.  I visited here for the first time last year, and this time I took part in three folklore expeditions under the guidance of a professor at the Department of Philology and Journalism.  Now I am doing an internship at Toraighyrov University, where I am studying Russian literature and folklore.  I am attracted by the opportunity to immerse myself in the culture and traditions of people from another country.

In addition, Isabella participated in expeditions in Eastern Kazakhstan and the Pavlodar region; she believes that it is impossible to be a specialist if you do not know the language, culture, folklore and literature of the people you are studying.  This explains her participation in expeditions and internships, since she also wants academic communication.

Since 2019, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Professor of the Department of Philology and Journalism Alevtina Tsvetkova has been working on a project led by the American organization "Partnership for Russian and Eurasian Folklore", she leads folklore expeditions with the participation of foreign students, post-graduate students, teachers, etc.
