The presentation of the book by Alkey Khakanovich Margulan "Olzhabay batyr" took place at Toraighyrov University.

 Olzhabay Batyr is a valiant Kazakh warrior of the 18th century, one of the leaders of the national liberation movement of the Kazakh people against the Dzungarian invaders, a staunch supporter of Abylai Khan.

 

The Kazakh people recognize Olzhabay batyr as a major diplomat: the participation of Olzhabay batyr in Kazakh-Chinese relations in the mid-eighteenth century is significant.

 In the book "Olzhabay batyr", academician Alkey Khakanovich, using new data, described his ancestor as a far-sighted politician, in the image of batyr Olzhabay, all Kazakh batyrs who thought about the future, the integrity of their country and land are described.  The book is intended for a wide audience.

 Alkey Margulan's daughter Danel Alkeyevna Margulan, deputy akim of Pavlodar region Aizada Kurmanova, deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Altynbek Nukhuly and others took part in the solemn presentation of the book "Olzhabay batyr".

 “In our university, Alkey Margulan is one of the most revered Kazakh scientists.  For more than 20 years,   an archaeological research center that bears his name has been operating at the university. Here, we continue the work of Margulan, conduct research of archeological monuments.  He was and remains a real colossus of Kazakhstan science, whose heritage we are obliged to preserve and increase,” said Yerkin Sadykov, rector of Toraighyrov University.
