The seminar “Development of renewable energy for energy efficiency, energy saving and ecology” was held at after S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University. The event was organized as part of the explanation of the Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbayev to the people of Kazakhstan “New Development Opportunities in the Conditions of the Fourth Industrial Revolution”.

In the Address, the Head of State noted the need to further develop the resource potential, as well as to increase the requirement for energy efficiency and energy saving of enterprises.

In this regard, the research and development of the scientists of the Faculty of Energy Engineering on the issues of energy saving during the operation of electrical installations and industrial equipment are of particular importance.

Today, the Faculty of Energy Engineering is working on improving the relay protection and automation of electric power system, as well as certain devices that increase the reliability of electrical equipment, and innovative approaches to solving the problems of modern energy are being practiced.

Thus, Doctor of Technical Science, Professor of the Department “Electrical power engineering” M. Ya. Kletsel is implementing a project to create electric lines protection systems, based on completely new principles using sealed contacts. The project will make it possible to implement theoretical developments on creating relay protection devices that are aimed at preventing accidents at electric power station and substations, as well as industrial and agricultural enterprises.

In addition, Professor A.N. Novozhilov developed schemes of protection and diagnostics devices that work with the application of new and promising technologies, including methods of machine learning.

Particular attention of the scientists of the faculty is paid to “clean” energy. For example, the project of Professor A.S. Nikiforov is focused on the creating of the efficient fuel briquettes from solid organic waste (fallen leaves). The invention will solve the problem of environmental pollution, reduce the consumption of primary energy resources and use organic waste. Within the framework of scientific work, the issue of creating briquettes is being worked out, without the use of a filler with a heat of combustion, which is equal by its performance to Ekibastuz coal.
