The creative meeting with an outstanding poet, writer-literary historian, social and political activist of Kazakhstan Olzhas Suleymenov was held within the walls of S.Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University

The visit began with the ceremonial opening of a name classroom of Olzhas Omarovich, where the poet gave good words to students; "Nation froce is not in the arsenals, but in libraries and universities."

Akim of Pavlodar region Bulat Bakauov, speaking to the audience, thanked the legendary guest for the invaluable contribution to the development of the anti-nuclear movement, noting that the closing of the testing area was the first stage in the establishment of independent state.

Concluding his speech, Bulat Zhumabekovich awarded the title "Honorary citizen of Pavlodar region" for national writer.

Welcoming the great son of the Kazakh people and all the participants of the meeting the rector of S.Toraighyrov PSU Aryn Orsariyev emphasized that the O.Suleymenov works were read and are read today by millions of readers all over the world. His books have been translated into 11 languages. "Our guest, first of all, the poet of world-wide scale, whose work belongs not only to Kazakhstan. We, as his countrymen are proud that the world will know about Kazakhstanis, through the genius of such a remarkable individual"- said Aryn Amangeldiyevich.

Olzhas Suleymenov started his speech with a small retrospective about the milestones of "Nevada-Semey" and among other things, emphasized the fact that for the first time in the history, America and such strong states as China, France and Russia, followed the example of Kazakhstan and closed their testing areas.

According to Olzhas Suleymenov, "the world is still burdening by the war" In that context, he thanked the activists of the movement, emphasizing their desire to live and once again reminded that everything that was done before under the auspices of the "Nevada-Semey" and what is being done today, we do for our new generations, because they are the real defenders of peace.

Shakhimardan Abilov, Honored Artist of Kazakhstan, performed at the event. Also, soloists of PSU students philharmonic and pupils of Zarinskaya school, squad "Jas Ulan" presented their musical greetings.

The meeting was full of activity. The students and intellectuals were able to get answers to their questions.
