Toraighyrov University hosted a round table dedicated to discussing the key indicators of the international QS Ranking.
The discussion focused on analyzing the university’s strengths and areas for improvement, as well as developing strategic approaches to further enhance its performance. Participants of the round table included faculty deans, deputy deans for research, the Head of the Center for Strategic Planning and Quality Management, and the Head of the Center for International Cooperation.
Invited international experts shared their professional experience and practical recommendations, including Zia Ur Rehman, Professor at Quaid-i-Azam University and Director of the A.K. Khan Institute of Materials Science and Advanced Sciences (h-index 37), as well as Niaz Muhammad, Professor at Abdul Wali Khan University (h-index 23). Their presentations highlighted the importance of international scientific collaboration and publication activity in improving the university’s ranking indicators.
The discussion addressed issues such as expanding cooperation with partner universities, increasing citation rates of scientific publications in the Scopus database, developing joint publications with international scholars, publishing in internationally indexed journals, strengthening feedback mechanisms with international students, attracting foreign professors to academic departments, and enhancing joint educational programs and other strategically important areas.
The round table continued in the format of a seminar led by Bibigul Akshulakova, Head of the Center for International Cooperation. In her presentation, she provided a detailed overview of the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ program, including participation in Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE), Jean Monnet, Erasmus Mundus Joint Degree, and Erasmus Mundus Design Measure projects.
The event served as an important platform for exchanging experience, discussing strategic priorities, and strengthening the university’s international activities aimed at increasing its competitiveness and positions in global rankings.
