Aktau hosted the official opening ceremony of the XII Summer Universiade among students of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan.  Toraighyrov University took an active part in the Universiade in the disciplines of togyzkumalak, table tennis, as well as wrestling and basketball.

 XII Summer Universiade, for the first time held by Yessenov University with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, started on May 24.

 - Our students have repeatedly proved their sportsmanship not only at the university level, but also at the republican and international competitions.  Participation in the Universiade is another test for our athletes, which I hope they will pass with dignity.  We wish victories to our students and their mentors , - said the rector of the university Yerkin Sadykov.

 For a month - until June 24 - 20 student competitions in 17 sports are planned.  More than 3000 students from 55 universities of the country take part in the Universiade.
 The closing ceremony of the Universiade will take place on June 22.

 It should be noted that the winners of the Universiade will receive tickets to the XXXI World Summer Universiade, which will be held from July 28 to August 8 in China, and the II Turkic Universiade, which will be held on September 24-29 in Turkestan.
