Toraighyrov University is learning the lessons of a pandemic - 47 employees will constantly work without coming to university.  In addition, each university employee, in agreement with the immediate supervisor, can choose one day a week when they can perform their duties remotely.

University programmers were among the first to evaluate the possibilities of a permanent remote workplace: “The specifics of my profession involves constant self-development and training, but earlier it was not always possible to build a schedule that was convenient for me.  Now I can provide a reasonable balance between work, training and leisure time”, said Pavel Zarechny, IT-HUB specialist at Toraighyrov University.

The widespread use of modern information technologies helps not only reduce the risks of the spread of a dangerous virus, but also optimize operating costs.  The basic educational processes are reviewed when traditional and distance learning forms are combined.

Earlier, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan called on universities in the country to minimize document flow and simplify internal procedures.

“Because of the pandemic, not only the education system will change.  We will have to live in conditions of instability, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity of the world.  The education system has to adapt to this”, said Askhat Aimagambetov, Minister of Education.

Also, to reduce risks, in the main building of the university there is open access through six exits, which will be equipped with disinfectant barrier and a contactless temperature control system.  In all buildings, the movement of employees and students along the corridors is organized according to the principle of right-hand traffic.  All exits to the building, floors and water closets are equipped with additional sanitizers.  A mechanism for books disinfecting will be purchased in the library, and an air recirculator will be installed in places with the crowded public areas.  Security measures have been introduced in the dining rooms and canteens.
