The meeting in the format of оpen spaсe, dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the actor, director of theater and cinema Shaken Aimanov was held at PSU.

The organizer of the event was the cinema club “Cinema as a historical source” in conjunction with the “Rukhani Zhangyru” institute of the university.

Members of the club and movie lovers gathered to share the work of the famous countryman and the founder of Kazakhstani cinema.

During the meeting, those present turned to extracts of the films “Our dear doctor”, “Dzhambul”, “The Land of the Fathers” and “The Angel in a Tyubetey”.

According to Aslan Azerbayev, PhD, the head of the film club, the films created by Shaken Aimanov can be attributed to the heights of art and spiritual culture of Kazakhstan, which clearly reflects the philosophy of the people and its historical role. His films are multifaceted and relevant. The author refers in them both to historical events and to his modern era.

“Within the direction of research on the history of everyday life, the film “The Song is Calling”, “Our dear doctor”, and, of course,“ The Angel in a Tyubetey” are of interest. They recreate “intelligent 60s” in the minds of the viewer: images of people of Soviet Kazakhstan, their life and work, hobbies, manner of speaking and of course, with particular love and warmth illustrate the life of the southern capital – Almaty”, shared A. Azerbayev.

Yerzhan Toraighyrov, director of the institute “Rukhani Zhangyru”, noted that for people who want to learn about the past of their people, it is enough to turn to the works of Shaken Aimanov, where reality is shown clearly and without any distortions.

“We want to teach to understand and see the meaning of cinema works. Young people have little interest in Soviet films, including Kazakhstani cinema. Today we involve our children to show how people lived in the Soviet era, what principles of life they were guided by. We must turn to the positive experience of the past and use it now, introducing students”, E. Toraighyrov said.

The event, dedicated to the anniversary date, continued in students’ house of PSU.
