More than a hundred dogs took part in the international dog show which was held at S.Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University. Dog lover with their pets from Astana, Almaty, Semey, Karaganda, Ust-Kamenogorsk and Russia came to take part in this event. In total 35 breeds were presented. There were Irish Wolfhound, Tibetan mastiffs, husky, chihuahua, American Akita, Yorkshire terriers, St. Bernard dogs, Tsverkshnautsers and others.

The event was organized by the Department of Zootechnology, Genetics and Selection of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University together with the Edelweiss cynological kennel club.

According to the dean of the Agrotechnological Faculty, Doctor of Agricultural Science, Toktar Bekseitov, the subject "Fundamentals of Cynology" was introduced at the department for several years already, as a discipline of choice.

"Now the subject "Fundamentals of Cynology", went beyond the agrotechnological faculty. This subject is chosen by students of other faculties, not least because to be able to prepare a reliable friend and guard at evening walks",- says Toktar Karibaevich.

Organizers note that the dog show gives an opportunity to animal lovers to learn more about the popularization of certain breeds of dogs and cynology in general, to identify breeding males that give the most promising offspring. At such events cynologists from different cities and countries meet, here contacts and acquaintances are established, which often grow into strong friendship and cooperation.

- If you took a thoroughbred puppy, with a beautiful genealogy, which has remarkable exterior potential, it is very important to show it, - says the head of the Department of Zootechnology, genetics and breeding, Candidate of Agricultural Science Nadezhda Burambayeva. - This is a big trouble for the breeders, when the puppies with beautiful exterior potential, received from the long-planned mating, are taken by even very good, loving owners, but nowhere are shown and do not contribute to the popularization and prestige of the breed.

Despite the breed and age, the dogs were evaluated on several parameters: appearance, color, ability to follow an order of the owner, ability to keep in the ring.

In addition, the audience had the opportunity to buy literature and video materials about the breed of interest.
