A literary evening "Zhurek zhyrlaidy" dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the famous Kazakh poet and writer Dikhan Abilev was held in the Kazakh literature sector of PSU.

Dikhan Abilev was born in 1907 in Bayanaul district. In 1937 he graduated from the Institute of Journalism and Postgraduate Studies at the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR. Later he was elected chairman of the board of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan, worked as the editor-in-chief of the publishing house Kazakh State Literary Publising House, a participant in the Great Patriotic War, was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree and the Red Star. Few people know, but since 1942, Dikhan Ablev was a military correspondent in the newspaper "Natisk vraga", the political administration agency of the First Baltic Front.

Poetry works of the poet, devoted to Malik Gabdullin, Manshuk Mametova, Sultanmakhmut Toraighyrov were sounded at the evening.

Ergen Zhanbolat read the work "Olen-meruert, zhyr mukhit tereninde", and Manas Kaliolla chose for performance the poem "Nagyz kazak-kazaktyn ozi ganа".

The librarian of the sector of Kazakh literature Zhursilya Abildinova conducted a bibliographic review of the literature entitled "Kalam men zaman", and also presented an electronic book exhibition "Olen-meruert, zhyr mukhit tereninde".
