Representatives of the Finno-Ugric ethno-cultural community of Pavlodar oblast acquainted the academic staff and students of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University with the culture of their nation.

The event took place within the framework of a festival titled “United Kazakhstan” held by Birlik Student Assembly of S. Toraighyrov PSU for the purpose of maintaining peace and consent in society and developing interregional relations. 

The concert included various choreographic and vocal performances of activists of the ethno-cultural community. In addition to the concert program every student and teacher of the University had a chance to taste ethnic food. 

According to the chairman of the Finno-Ugric ethno-cultural community of Pavlodar oblast Olga Nikolashina, the Finno-Ugric group includes 31 ethnoses: the Mari, Hungarians, Permians, Udmurts and many others. 

“Our community was established in May 2015. We have done a lot for such a short period of time. And today, we are glad to appear on the stage of one of leading universities of our republic. We tried to tell about originality of the culture and its wealth in a simple and interesting way. We should respect and preserve traditions and customs of all nations living in Kazakhstan for the sake of peace and consent,” said Olga Leonidovna.
