Economic consultant Pierre-Eve Luka conducted a lecture for students at S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University.

The lecture was devoted to the problem of investments attraction and to the organization of economic cooperation and development.

It was attended by the students and academic staff members of the Faculty of Business and Law, the “ENACTUS” students’ team for social and business projects, and also students planning to carry out startup projects.

Pierre-Eve Luka shared his experience with students telling how investments could be attracted to various economic sectors in the conditions of the Pavlodar region. Different variants of investment in such priority spheres as metallurgy, petro chemistry and machinery construction on the part of European funds were offered taking into account the economy structure of the oblast.

Also the variants of financing through regional funds, including the “Damu” fund, and international investment projects were examined.

The guest assured that he would help to get access to European funds with a possibility of further financing of startup projects of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University.

Pierre-Eve Luka has worked in the European Union, where he was Counselor for Trade and Private Sector Development. He has been Diplomat of Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in Paris, performing consultations for governments of some Eurasian countries.

He has been working in Kazakhstan and Central Asia for more than 12 years. Pierre-Eve Luka has recently established his own consulting company “Consulting & Communication”, which provides consultations for the biggest private entities on state relations and for the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on competitiveness and investments.

He speaks fluent Russian, English and French; also he studies the Kazakh language.
