An open lecture of the Master’s student of Freiberg Mining Academy (Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany), Martin Amdt was held in S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University.

The guest from Germany has come to PSU within the framework of IAESTE. The International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE) is a non parliamentary social organization, which provides students of higher technical education institutions with course-related internships to help them improve their professional knowledge at leading foreign and Kazakhstan’s enterprises.

The Master’s student of Freiberg Mining Academy (Germany), Martin Amdt has come to Pavlodar to pass through the internship specializing in the scientific study of lithology, stratigraphy and mineralogy at the Geography and Tourism Department of PSU. The internship will last up to September 25.

During his visit Martin Amdt conducted an open lecture, dedicated to the main scientific directions of geology, examined all types of utilized equipment and methods of working with it. Also the lecturer told students about the peculiarities of the educational process in Freiberg Mining Academy and the sights of Freiberg.

Besides that, Martin Amdt visited Bayanaul State National Park during his internship. The aim of the visit was to examine geological structure of the park and mineralogical composition of rocks.

Martin plans to represent the results of the research, conducted together with D. D. Yessimova, G. S. Azhayev and A. G. Tsaregorodtseva, in a scientific publication.

Martin Amdt noted that the internship left an indelible impression about Kazakhstan and Pavlodar; he was quite interested in the unique history and the nature of Bayanaul National Park. Martin Amdt plans to visit our region for the second time in future.
