A meeting with Dana Kalenova, a member of the national information group, took place at S. Toraighyrov PSU. It was devoted to the discussion and explanation of 100 Steps for Implementation of 5 Institutional Reforms Proposed by the President.

The meeting was attended by members of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, heads of regional ethno-cultural associations, members of the scientific and expert group of APK, the academic staff of Pavlodar State University and Innovative University of Eurasia, directors of colleges and members of the regional information group.

Arman Akishev, Vice-Rector for Development Strategy, Educational and Social Affairs of S. Toraighyrov PSU, delivered an opening speech where he noted that “100 Steps” is a strategic document covering reforms in all aspects of the country's life and gradual modernization of the state, economy and society. “All of us need to learn this practical guide to the implementation of the five institutional reforms that are so important for our country,” he said.

Dana Kalenova, Director of the Strategic Planning Department of the Ministry of Education and Science and a member of the national information group, elaborated on the fourth section of the document, Identity and Unity. It calls for strengthening social cohesion and development of the system of values based on the Mangylyk Yel idea.

“The five reforms proposed by the President is a document containing a program of action for qualitative development of our state. It will definitely boost progress in many areas of our lives,” she said.

During the discussion, participants of the meeting adopted a number of proposals on the implementation of the five institutional reforms proposed by the President: a textbook on Ethnic Groups in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the History and Modernity will be written for HEI and college students; a study guide devoted to Mangylyk Yel As Kazakhstan's National Idea will be written and the academic discipline Mangylyk Yel will be introduced in the state educational standard of higher professional education; it is also planned to release a series of documentaries, books and monographs with information about people from different ethnic groups working in the field of industry, science, art and sports; there will also be a comprehensive sociological study on Peculiarities of the National and State Identity Formation and Peculiarities of the Nurly Zhol Program Perception in Border Regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

All of the 5 reforms and each of the 100 steps are based on the knowledge and advanced technologies that will become the foundation of the modernized Kazakh society, its intellectual strength. “This is a great responsibility for our University as we are a source of innovation for the industrial sector,” said Arman Akishev.

In relation to the implementation of the five institutional reforms proposed by the President, S. Toraighyrov PSU defines its mission as training of highly qualified, competitive specialists and commercialization of technologies capable of raising the country's economy to a new technological level.

PSU is among the 10 innovation-oriented universities of Kazakhstan carrying out targeted training of personnel for the projects implemented within the framework of the State Program of Industrial and Innovative Development until 2020.
