Representatives of McKinsey&Company Ilya Simonenko and Alima Zimanova, as well as a member of the Program Office of the Consortium of Universities of Kazakhstan on Implementation of Personnel Training under the State Program of Industrial and Innovative Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2015-2019 (SP IID-2) Larisa Nefyodova visited S. Toraighyrov PSU. This visit was planned as a part of the implementation of the program of S. Toraighyrov PSU participation in SP IID-2.

The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan has chosen PSU as a basic higher education institution of the region in 4 areas: energy engineering, metallurgy, mechanical engineering and petrochemistry.

The meeting devoted to implementation of the Program of S. Toraighyrov PSU participation in SP IID-2 was attended by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Doctor of Pedagogic Sciences Nelli Pfeifer, Director of the Department of Academic Affairs Renat Nurgozhin and members of the project office for personnel training under SP IID-2 of S. Toraighyrov PSU Pyotr Bykov, Aleksey Bogomolov, Saltanat Kenbeilova, Asylbek Kasenov and Yevgeniy Prikhodko.

Participants of the meeting discussed development prospects of the energy sector, metallurgy, mechanical engineering and petrochemistry of the Pavlodar region in the context of SP IID-2 implementation, the University's role in personnel training for SP IID-2, experience of the University in dual education, academic mobility, inviting foreign lecturers and other activities.

Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Doctor of Pedagogic Sciences, Professor Nelli Pfeifer noted that S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University successfully solves the problem of introducing new effective teaching methods in the preparation of competitive and highly-demanded specialists. “For example, the programs of dual education and polylingual training are available for 19 and 16 educational programs respectively; in 2014 only, 75 students studied abroad under the Academic Mobility program, 70 Master's degree students had internships abroad; as for inviting foreign lecturers, we are deeply convinced that this helps our students get world-class education,” said Nelli Pfeifer.
