A FiLr-302 group student of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University Gaynel-Khayat Mashrapova got an “excellent” grade for the international Total Dictation.

The first Total Dictation was held in Novosibirsk eight years ago as a public reaction to declining literacy of the population. Since that moment, people from many cities of Russia and other countries have taken this exam. This year, the Total Dictation was held in Pavlodar for the first time. The text for the exam (“The Chusovskaya-Tagil Train”) was written by a famous Russian writer Aleksey Ivanov, whose works are characterized by a unique style and rich vocabulary.

According to the organizers of the event, it was expected that about 350 residents of Pavlodar will test their literacy in our city; in reality, there were twice as much people - 693. Pavlodar is among the four cities in the world where people actively supported the campaign.

In total, 50 people from Pavlodar, including the PSU student, received diplomas confirming their perfect linguistic proficiency.
