Kazakhstan is at a new stage of development, the implementation of which will be impossible without constitutional reform.  This is what was discussed today on the campus of Toraighyrov University, where the administration met with employees and students of the university.

At the meeting, it was recalled that the amendments proposed by Kassym-Jomart Tokayev would affect a third of the articles of the Constitution.  Together they are of crucial importance for our country.  That is why, for the first time in the last 27 years, the issue of amending the Basic Law was proposed to be decided not in Parliament, but at a republican referendum.  The constitutional reform is a logical continuation of all the political reforms of the President since 2019.

The participants of the dialogue, which took place on the university campus, discussed the main tasks of the constitutional reform, which are the final transition from the super-presidential model to the presidential republic, the redistribution of a number of powers, changing the role and status of the Parliament, and so on.  Employees and students of the university expressed their support for political reforms and declared their readiness to take part in the nationwide vote.
