Achievements of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies

1. The Department received an English Language Fellow grant from the US Department of State.

2. The Department received a grant from the US Embassy under the English Access Microscholarship Program for 2013-2015 (received regularly since 2007)

3. Senior Lecturer Z.V. Klyushina and Lecturer Ye.A. Vishenkova won grants to study in a graduate school of the Russian Federation under the Program for Internationalization of Education in the Russian Federation.

4. Senior Lecturer M.Zh. Dairbayeva received the Kazakhstani Teacher of March 2013 award under the English-language programs of the US Embassy.

5. Senior Lecturer M.Zh.Dairbayeva received the Uzdik Talimger award of S. Toraighyrov PSU.

6. Senior Lecturer Yu.O. Gafiatulina received the Kazakhstani Teacher of March 2013 award under the English-language programs of the US Embassy.

7. Aynur Temirgaly, a 4th-year undergraduate student, won a summer scholarship from DAAD and went to Dusseldorf, Germany (July 2013).

8. A.K. Kairbayeva won a grant from the US Embassy and took part in the Central Asian forum of English Teachers in Kyrgyzstan (2013).

9. The degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) was conferred upon Senior Lecturer S.R. Khudiyeva in March 2014.

10. Former student of the Department Amina Idrisova entered a Master's degree program in 5M020700 Translation Studies at Abylai Khan KazUIR&WL.

11. Undergraduate students Aydos Baltabayev and Temerlan Tulegenov won the presidential scholarship.

12. 9 students participated in international scientific conferences and published 9 articles in the 2012-2013 academic year.

13. Senior Lecturer Z.V. Klyushina received an invitation to participate in a workshop for English teachers held under the English Access Microscholarship Program at the University of South Carolina.

14. 3rd-year students took part in the National Inter-University Academic Competition in Foreign Languages. Zh. Kanat (majoring in Translation Studies, English) and I. Demikhov (Foreign Philology, German) won third prizes in the individual event.
