The Department that has approved degree-granting programs offers two Bachelor’s and two Master’s ones:

5B090200 Tourism (Educational program) granting the academic degree “Bachelor of Service Management” and 5B060900 Geography (Educational program)granting the academic degree “Bachelor of Geography”. Modes of study: full-time and distance learning.

The Department offers the following Master’s degree programs: 6M060900 Geography granting the academic degree “Master of Natural Sciences” and 6M090200 Tourism granting the academic degree “Master of Service Management”.

Students majoring in 5В060900 Geography acquire knowledge in:

The Department has been training students under the 6M060900 Geography Master’s degree program since September 01, 2005.

Training is conducted by 4 candidates of sciences and 3 Ph.D.s, who are leading in their fields.

The graduate of the Master’s degree program is awarded the academic degree of “Master of Natural Sciences”.

The educational process of Master’s degree students is organized in accordance with the curriculum and class schedule.

Instructors conduct topical lectures, lectures-discussions and use other active teaching tools to facilitate a learning environment.

The implementation of the academic program in the given field of study is fostered by access to the Internet and the library Fund of the University.

Having completed the courses “Pedagogics” and “Psychology”, Master’s degree students have pedagogical practical training. The Department of Psychology and Pedagogy together with the Department of Geography and Tourism have developed a working program of pedagogical practical training to assist Master’s degree students in the learning process.

Master’s dissertation topics are relevant and correspond to the Department’s field of research related to the problems of natural systems and geoecology of anthropogenic landscapes.

In the process of training Master’s degree students majoring in the given field of study use computer facilities (Technopark) and the Internet in conducting research and writing Master’s theses. They use the resources of the Department and the University’s electronic library in the educational process.

The Master of Natural Sciences degree enables its holder to work as a teacher, researcher, as a manager and specialist in the field of management, in production, as well as an expert of various government agencies and non-governmental organizations.

Graduates of the Master’s degree programs are qualified to carry out the following types of professional activities:

• project.

The duration of research and pedagogical master’s degree programs varies between one year, one and a half years and two years.
