Work learning plans and work curricula have been developed for programs offered by the Department conforming to the requirements of the state obligatory standards of education (both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees programs) and typical programs. Teaching complexes of all programs and disciplines are available.

The content of work curricula of programs, syllabi of disciplines, materials of methodological guidelines for the educational process, students’ study load meet the requirements of state obligatory standards of education and contemporary demands on specialists training. While drawing up the given academic documents the requirements of employers and graduates of the Departments have been taken into account.

The planning of the educational process is carried out on the basis of work curricula. In addition to typical curricula referring to programs offered, the list of elective disciplines is formed, which bring an opportunity for students to develop their creative and scientific potential.

The quality of development of work curricula, methodological guidelines and recommendations on types of academic activity of students and Master’s program students is controlled by examining them at meetings of the Department, the Faculty board, and is approved by the approval memorandum elaborated for each training and methodological guideline.

The scientific-methodological and training-methodological seminars operate at the Department. Sessions of methodological seminars are held at least once in two months according to work plans. Their activity covers the main problems of methodological support and improvement of the educational process, generalization and extension of progressive experience on organization and development of training-methodological work and implementation of credit based education technology.

The training is carried out on the basis of credit technology. The distance education technology including elaboration of disciplines cases and conduction of online classes is used in training of extramural students. Classes in a number of disciplines for full-time students are conducted with the use of an interactive whiteboard, application programs (such as AUTOCAD, SCAD, SANA, and et al.), and multimedia training tools. Knowledge control is carried out by means of a computer-aided testing.

The Department conducts the training of students with the use of educational portal of the University.

Great attention is paid to organization and the quality of conduction of the independent work of students and Master’s students. For this purpose the work on individualization of tasks, delivery of practical classes according to individual tasks and conduction of SIW and MSIW according to the schedule under the direction of teachers is carried out.

The Department has organized the training of students in the state language; also it pays great attention to methodological support of the training.

The Department conducts the work on methodological support of the educational process according to the programs offered. For the reporting period the academic staff members have prepared 40 study guidelines and methodological guidelines (16 of them are recommended by the Republic Educational-Methodical Council of the MES of the Republic of Kazakhstan), 2 instructional guidelines and 15 electronic and study manuals. Among them 16 study and methodological guides are developed in the state language.

In terms of the reporting period the share of training materials development for one full-time member of the Department’s academic staff is:

- the 2011-2012 academic year: 7,32 p.s.;

- the 2012-2013 academic year: 2,17 p.s.;

- the 2013-2014 academic year: 6,74 p.s.;

- the 2014-2015 academic year: 8,54 p.s.

The education process for the extramural mode of study is carried out according to distance technology with the use of cases for each student. Classes are conducted in both online and offline modes. The Department’s methodical ware covers the organization of extramural studies as well.

Work curricula of programs offered under extramural studies are developed separately for the University’s entrants completed Vocational Secondary Education and entrants completed Vocational Higher Education taking into account the language of instruction and basic education (as for Vocational Secondary Education). The education period lasts 3 years.

The Department conducts purposeful work on employment of its alumni: for the reporting period the graduates database has been formed, the contact with enterprises and graduates has been established, the systematic work with unemployed graduates is conducted. Information on graduates employment:

- the 2011-2012 academic year: 40 graduated, 37 employed (92,5%);

- the 2012-2013 academic year: 31 graduated, 25 employed (80,6%);

- the 2013-2014 academic year: 30 graduated, 30 employed (100%);

- the 2014-2015 academic year: 51 graduated, 30 employed (100%); the expected number of graduates in the 2015-2016 academic year: 58 people.

The Department has work plans, annual reports, the minutes of the Department’s meetings and tutorial seminars. The graduates’ employment register is kept; there are also reviews on the quality of specialists’ training from enterprises, institutions and organizations.
