History of the department

The Department of Heat Power Engineering is one of the first departments of the University. It was established in 1974 to provide highly-qualified specialists for the booming energy sector of the region. Over the years of its existence, it has trained many specialists who now work all over the former USSR - from the Baltic Power Plant in the west to the Zeya hydroelectric station in the Far East.

The graduates of the Department are in demand at large energy and industrial companies of the region.
