The National Engineering Academy of the Republic of Kazakhstan announces the X Republican contest "The Best Engineer of the Year". 
The competition is held to promote the achievements and experience of the country's best engineers and to popularize the engineering profession.

The deadline for submitting documents for participation in the competition is October 1, 2025, according to the participant's questionnaire.

1. Requirements for the Contest participants
Persons with higher engineering education and a high level of competence, engaged in engineering work at enterprises, organizations and institutions of various forms of ownership, regardless of their age, position, academic title and degree, and having significant engineering research results, are allowed to participate in the Competition.

Candidates for participation in the competition are nominated to the competition commission by regional executive bodies, the leadership of regional public organizations of scientific and technical societies and other public associations.

When nominating a candidate, the following qualities of the candidate should be taken into account:

independence of technical thinking and willingness to develop new materials, machines, equipment, devices, technologies, possession of computer-aided design skills, construction of machines, equipment and devices;
comprehensive training, focused on analytical activity, flexible adaptation to changes in the content of professional activity;
the ability to freely express their opinions on technical issues based on scientific analysis and synthesis;
the ability to ensure an increase in production efficiency and labor productivity, rational use of production resources, high quality and competitiveness of products, technologies, works and services;
the development of creative initiative, rationalization, invention, the introduction of achievements of domestic and foreign science and technology, the use of best practices that ensure the effective work of the Organization;
work on improving their professional level (continuing education and self-education).
2. The procedure and deadline for submitting candidates and materials for the Competition
Information on the deadline for submitting applications and the terms of the Competition is posted on the official website of the National Engineering Academies of the Republic of Kazakhstan and published in the media on April 12 annually.

To participate, you must submit an application to the Competition Committee with the following accompanying materials:

submission (recommendation) on the nomination of a candidate with an extract from the minutes of the meeting attached;
information about the candidate's professional achievements, containing an expert opinion on the level of engineering experience;
participant's questionnaire (according to the form approved by the Commission);
a copy of the higher education diploma;
a list of scientific papers published by the candidate in print, a list of inventions, patents and innovation proposals, etc
. 3×4 cm color photograph (in electronic form);
diagrams, graphs, drawings, photos (at the discretion of the participants) illustrating achievements or developments;
resume for publication in a booklet with brief information about the candidate's achievements (up to 20 lines).

3. Selection procedure and awarding of winners
The documents are reviewed in accordance with the requirements established by these Regulations. The selection procedure includes conducting an expert evaluation of the contestants by the Commission. The participant of the Competition may be refused to participate in the Competition in case of non-compliance with the specified requirements or submission of false information.

The results of the Competition are summarized at the final meeting of the Commission annually in the fourth quarter and formalized in a protocol containing a list of winners.

The winners of the Competition are awarded with diplomas and a commemorative medal "BEST ENGINEER OF THE YEAR".
The results of the Competition are published on the website of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in the journal "Bulletin of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan" and in other information resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the names of the winners of the Competition and brief information about their achievements.

The Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan announces a competition for the State Youth Award "Daryn".

The Daryn State Youth Prize is awarded annually for the purpose of state support to talented youth for fruitful scientific, creative, social activities, as well as for high sporting achievements.

The competition will be held in 10 categories: "Literature", "Science", "Design and Fine Arts", "Journalism", "Classical Music", "Creative Initiatives", "Sports", "Theater and Cinema", "Variety", "Folk art".

Citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the age of 35 are eligible for the award at the time of the application deadline, who are laureates of international and national competitions, festivals and exhibitions, prize-winners and winners of national and international sports competitions, as well as candidates whose activities are innovative and contribute to the development of the relevant industry and society as a whole.

Candidates for the award are submitted by government agencies and public associations.

The persons awarded the prize are awarded the title of "Laureate of the Daryn State Youth Award", a diploma, a badge and a cash prize are awarded.

Every year, the presentation of the Daryn Prize is planned in a solemn ceremony dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Daryn Award was established in 1992. Over the years, more than 320 people from various fields have won this award.

RSE "National Institute of Intellectual Property" and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan announce the launch of the Republican Contest of achievements in the field of invention "Shapagat" (hereinafter – the Shapagat contest).

The purpose of the competition is to support and stimulate the inventive activities of Kazakhstani scientists and outstanding achievements of domestic enterprises.

The competition is held in the following nominations: "Invention of the Year", "Female inventor", "The most active inventor", "The best innovative company", "Young Inventor" (for young scientists and students aged 18-35 years) and "Young talent" (for schoolchildren aged 10-18 years). The patent holders of the Republic of Kazakhstan, who have valid patents for inventions issued in 2024, participate in the nominations "Invention of the Year", "Female Inventor" and "Young Inventor".

The award of the honorary title "Honored Inventor of the Republic of Kazakhstan" is provided within the framework of the Shapagat competition.

An application for the award of "Honored Inventor of the Republic of Kazakhstan" is initiated by government agencies, scientific organizations or public associations, enterprises, institutions or organizations that have introduced the invention(s) into production.

The members of the Commission award the title of "Honored Inventor of the Republic of Kazakhstan" according to the following criteria:

- the total number of patents received and valid for inventions, as well as author's certificates;

- the results of the introduction and application of the most important and widely used, patented inventions in various sectors of the economy. The overall economic effect of the introduction and application, their social significance;

- (reviews of enterprises, institutions, organizations, persons engaged in scientific or scientific-technical activities, acts on the introduction of an invention);

-the duration of the activity in the field of invention;

- the number of registrations of the transfer and (or) granting of the right to use the invention.

The winners of the competition will be determined by the Competition Commission, which will include representatives of government agencies, scientific organizations, business sector, innovation development institutes and public organizations. The assessment will be based on a number of criteria, including social significance, economic impact, environmental safety, competitiveness, and successful technology implementation in production and commercialization.

The winners of the competition will be awarded with diplomas, statuettes and monetary certificates from 500 thousand to 1 million tenge.
