The ideas of tolerance of the enlightener Al-Farabi were discussed at a round table of the Department of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan.

The humanistic ideas of the philosopher, the unification of the ancient heritage and Islam in their speeches, dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of the scientist, reflected Doctor of Historical Sciences Saule Mamytova, PhD Aslan Azerbayev and Zhuldyz Kabidenova.

Following the results of the speeches, a lively discussion was held between the participants in the round table.

There were many complaints in the student audience that many of the realities of our time impede the achievement of the ideals of Al-Farabi. Some argued that a person’s happiness depended on material wealth and personal comfort. Others spoke of happiness in service to society.
