ToU entered the international ranking of the most environmental friendly educational institutions in the world, taking 302nd place. Among domestic universities, ToU took an honorable second place, losingvto Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

UI Green Metrics World University Ranking is a global ranking of "environmental friendly" universities, compiled by the University of Indonesia (UI) since 2010.

780 universities from 83 countries took part in 2019.

The assessment takes into account energy consumption, the implementation of policy to reduce the use of paper and plastic on campus, the rational use of water resources, the use of transport on the territory of the university, etc.
