The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Italian Republic to the Republic of Kasakhstan Stefano Ravagnan visited S. Toraighyrov PSU, and held a meeting with its students.

Greeting the audience, Stefano Ravagnan expressed his gratitude to the rector of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University Aryn Orsariyev for the invitation, and noted that “Kazakhstan and Italy have been developing and maintaining great working relationships in cooperation of universities for many years”.

According to Stefano Ravagnan, the given issue has been discussed for several times at the meeting of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the Prime Minister of the Italian Republic for the last year.

The ambassador paid special attention to the upcoming international fair of scientific achievements and innovations EXPO 2017, and noted that “in the light of this event, positive experience in carrying out expositions has been already gained at EXPO Milano 2015 under the Kazakhstan-Italy Year”.

According to Stefano Ravagnan, the exposition represented by Kazakhstan had a high average attendance among other countries at EXPO. Kazakhstan in that regard gained advanced experience and best practices for carrying out EXPO 2017.

Besides this, in the course of the meeting a number of arrangements on attraction of Italian consultants in the sphere of language training and cultural adaptation of Pavlodar State University’s students, visiting the Italian Republic under academic mobility, were reached. In this context the Italian ambassador to Kazakhstan pinpointed Erasmus Plus and Horizon 2020 projects offered by the European Union.

Stefano Ravagnan considers that the University’s participation in such programs will give a powerful kick start to development of republican cooperation between universities of Italia and Kazakhstan.

At the end of the event PSU students asked questions to the distinguished guest concerning peculiarities of the Italian educational system, opportunities for Kazakhstan’s students to participate in programs offered by the Italian Republic, et al.
