Scientists from Toraighyrov University took a three-day course on conducting laboratory audits in accordance with ISO 17025 in Paris.

 - Any experience is useful to a person, especially for scientists.  To train competitive specialists, we must know how this is done outside of Kazakhstan.  Therefore, Toraighyrov University always welcomes the opportunity to study the experience of foreign colleagues.  So we can say that ToU is truly included in the process of globalization of knowledge.  Of course, all this would be impossible without the support of the state and the work of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, which is trying to establish cooperation with the top universities in the world,” noted the rector of the university, Yerkin Sadykov.

Let us recall that within the framework of the Kazakhstan-French Forum of Higher Educational Institutions, which was held in November 2022 in Paris, Toraighyrov University began scientific cooperation in the field of standardization and metrology.

Representatives of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in France assisted in organizing negotiations with the National Laboratory of Metrology and Testing (LNE).  As a result, professor-teachers Viktor Kamkin and Akmaral Mukhamedzhanova attended a seminar on the topic “Organization of a laboratory audit in accordance with the requirements of ISO 17025.”

During the three-day seminar, participants from Kazakhstan were familiarized with the French experience in implementing international standards, audit techniques and tools, and management systems (ISO 19011).  As part of the seminar, a meeting was held with LNE Director for Research and Development M. Chambon.  With the assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in France, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Kazakhstan university and the French institute in order to further develop bilateral cooperation in the field of metrology.

 - The training was rich in theoretical material, and there was also a practical part.  We gained valuable knowledge on international standards, on the correct conduct of laboratory audits through practical cases and real situations, knowledge about the role of the auditor - how to behave correctly during an audit.  This knowledge is important for us and will be applicable in ToU,” noted Akmaral Mukhamedzhanova.
