Toraighyrov University hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Multilingualism and Intercultural Communication: Experience, Problems, Prospects".

Leading philologists from far and near abroad (Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Belarus) took part in the scientific discussion.

In his speech, Rector of ToU  Yerkin Sadykov noted that in the modern world, knowledge of languages   is a mandatory component of the professional competence of any specialist, therefore, we should try to teach languages   and literature in a multilingual educational environment.  “Both Kazakhstan scientists and their foreign colleagues are now engaged in an in-depth study of intercultural relations and their impact on society.  I am sure that for the further development of our society, it is necessary to cultivate respect, zeal for learning the native and other languages   from childhood.  This includes tolerance for the culture and traditions of other peoples.  This is the key to the success of Kazakhstan, which is considered one of the standards of a multicultural state,” the speaker noted.

The work of the conference continued in sections devoted to the state language, problems of translation, the principles of multiculturalism in education, etc.

It is planned to publish a collection of scientific articles based on the materials of the conference.
