Enactus residents of Toraighyrov University are developing a startup project to create devices for blind people.

Speaker Desk is a device that alcan translate any text into Braille and is able to adapt foreign languages   to the user's language.

Also, the device “pronounce” the scanned material and teaches  the Braille script to the blind people in, thanks to the sound of the text.

The principle of operation of the device is based on Arduino boards, a decoder-translator program and a hand-held text scanner.

The creator and CEO of the Speaker Desk project, Adil Kaikenov, does not deny that similar devices exist, but marks that they simply teach the Braille alphabet, or  pronounce the scanned text.

“Our device, when scanning text in any language, translates it into the user's language (Russian by default) and displays it in Braille on the board and, if necessary, reads it out.  Analogues cannot display and sound them in the same language in which they scanned”.

According to the captain of the Enactus team, Alikhan Aryntai, a website is currently being created on which friends, relatives of blind and visually impaired people can purchase the device, as well as cooperation and product promotion are planned together with the Kazakhstan society of the blind people and centers for the blind people, in exchange for purchasing goods at a low price.

To implement this project, startupers need to raise investment  in the amount of $ 7400.
