The International Symposium on Sustainable Energy and Mechanical Engineering ended in Kazan on the day before.

800 participants from Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Belarus, Moldova, as well as non-CIS countries - Italy, Bulgaria, Turkey, Mongolia gathered on the site of  Kazan State Power Engineering University in an online format.

The head of the Department of Power Engineering Vadim Markovskiy in his report on the development of the energy industry in Pavlodar Irtysh Land  told about geopolitical and social threats.

“Building the economy by means of natural resource rent and raw material trajectory is attractive for its simplicity in the beginning, but later turns into a dangerous dependence on the situation in the world energy market, weakening incentives for innovative development.  In recent decades, Kazakhstan has turned out to be practically among such countries.  It is no coincidence that the rejection of the raw-material model of economic development, the transition to an innovative path of development was announced by the country's leadership and is perceived by society as a major task”, - V. Markovskiy emphasized.

Let us recall that earlier our university entered the consortium of technical education, which included 11 universities from Russia and 6 universities from Kazakhstan.

Within the framework of the symposium program, the first meeting of the working group was also held, with the participation of  vice-rector for scientific work and international cooperation Nurlan Yerzhanov, as a result of which scientific and educational directions for the development of the consortium members were determined.
