Associate Professor of the Department of Biotechnology Irina Anikina as part of a Kazakhstan expert delegation on classification, phytosanitary, breeders' rights and seed development visited the Netherlands.

The visit was part of bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Netherlands on agricultural crop production.

During the trip, the participants met with experts and representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality of the Netherlands and discussed issues of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of breeders' rights, certification of potatoes, as well as phytosanitary in seed potatoes. In addition, a joint meeting was held with the Netherlands Inspection Service (NAK), that work is aimed at promoting and controlling the quality of seed potatoes.

An excursion was organized for thr guests in order to familiarize with the he agro-industrial cluster of the Netherlands and the largest potato processing company Farm Frıtes.

Following the meeting, the participants outlined the ways for further cooperation in the direction of promoting Dutch varieties on the market of Kazakhstan.
