Candidate of Technical Sciences, Professor of PSU, Head of the Department of Metallurgy and Honorary Metallurgist of Kazakhstan Merkhat Suyundikov celebrated his 60th anniversary in S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University.

The event was attended by Meiram Begentayev, Rector of PSU, Doctor of Economics, the scientific community, colleagues, graduates and students of Merkhat Madeniyevich.

The solemn awarding ceremony opened the festive meeting. Thus, M. Suyundikov was awarded the badges “Y. Altynsarin” and “For the contribution to the region”.

“Today it should be noted that M. Suyundikov stood at the origins of metallurgical workers training in the Pavlodar region. Among the first he began to conduct training for ferroalloy production in the specialty “Metallurgy of ferrous metals”. Also, for the first time at PSU, he organized the teaching of such disciplines as “Technology of construction materials”, “Materials science” and others in the Kazakh language”, M. Begentayev emphasized.

The scientist is the author of more than 180 publications, including patents for inventions, textbooks, terminological dictionaries in the Russian and Kazakh languages. Under his supervision, hundreds of bachelors and about 300 masters have been trained who successfully work in various positions in the field of production, science and education.

Under the guidance of Merkhat Madeniyevich, the department of metallurgy is one of the leading in the region and is known within the republic, and the spcialty “Metallurgy” is among the top three in Kazakhstan.

In addition to scientific and pedagogical activity, Merkhat Madeniyevich pays great attention to the study of history, is engaged in creative work, developing artistic casting. Thus, under his supervision and direct authorship, the desktop busts of Al Farabi, Mashkhur Zhussip, K. Satpayev, S. Toraighyrov and others were cast.

In addition, scientist transferred about 200 pages of the creative heritage of the People's Akyn, public figure Zh. Tolenov to the modern Kazakh alphabet (Cyrillic). Upon which the book “Alash kayratkeri, halyk akyny Zhaksylyk Tolenyly. Omir zholy. Shygarmalary” was published.

It is also worth noting that the work of M. Suyundikov is appreciated by various ranks and awards, including the title “Honored Worker of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, the Gold Medal of S. Toraighyrov PSU, recognized as the “Best Head of the Department of S. Toraighyrov PSU – 2007”.

For his contribution to the development of science, M. M. Suyundikov was elected an Academician of the International Informatization Academy.
