An international scientific conference “XIX Satpayev readings”, devoted to the 120th anniversary of Kanysh Imantayevich Satpayev, an outstanding Kazakh scientist, doctor of geological and mineralogical sciences, first president of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR, academician of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, was held at S.Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University.

The event was attended by young graduates, students and schoolchildren.

Akim of Pavlodar region Bulat Bakauov and Gaukhar Akhmetova, rector of S.Toraighyrov PSU.

“A world-famous scientist, a man of bold scientific research and encyclopedic knowledge with his work and talent, Kanysh Imantayevich Satpayev made a huge contribution to the development of scientific thought in Kazakhstan. Thanks to his personal efforts, such sciences as metallogeny, geology, geodesy developed in the country”, B. Bakauov noted.

In her speech G. Akhmetova emphasized that the name of Kanysh Satpayev is a vivid example of success, a symbol of victory. Victories over himself, victories over circumstances, and, as life shows, victories over time.

The conference received more than 1,500 articles from many cities of Kazakhstan, including Aktobe, Almaty, Nur-Sultan, Karaganda, Kostanay, Kokshetau, Uralsk, Taraz, as well as from nearby cities of Russia. According to the conference materials were published in 22 volumes.

Over 19 years, about 25 thousand young scientists and talented schoolchildren not only from Kazakhstan, but also from Russia, Belarus, Croatia and other countries took part in the “Satpayev Readings”, and more than 19 thousand articles were published in 222 volumes.

In addition, on this day, the grand opening of a branch of the National Academy of Mining Sciences was held with the participation of the President of the Academy, Doctor of Engineering Nurlan Ryspanov.

“The task of scientists is to find solutions and help metallurgical enterprises to develop innovative tasks that will help to significantly reduce the cost of production, to make the products of our plants more competitive. For this we want to consolidate all scientists of Pavlodar Irtysh region. Only science can create domestic innovations. And our task is to create our own national innovative projects”, N. Ryspanov said.
