An extended discussion of the key provisions noted by the Head of State N.A. Nazarbayev in the Address to the People of Kazakhstan “New development opportunities in the conditions of the fourth industrial revolution” was held at S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University.
Before the meeting, the rector of S. Toraighyrov PSU, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences Gaukhar Akhmetova, noted that today the university actively works to accomplish the tasks set by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Many points of the Address are already being implemented at PSU to the full extent.
The new program document refers to the need for involving of people in productive employment, opening their own businesses. At present, PSU has taken the path of creating an entrepreneurial university. On the basis of the university an international Startup Academy is open, aimed at the development of entrepreneurship and the commercialization of projects. During its existence, more than 2,000 students and 365 residents were trained, 36 successful campaigns were conducted.
The development of digitization and IT services are of key importance. The Project office, the student services center were created, the development of software for translating academic contents into Latin, the opening of a 3D printing center, etc. are planned within the framework of the voiced tasks.
One of the priority areas noted in the Address is the issue of energy efficiency and energy saving of enterprises. Today, two projects presented at the exhibition EXPO-2017 on the use of pedestrian slabs for electrical generation and autonomous solar-powered lamps have been adopted for realization and implementation at the university.
The President of the Republic emphasized the need to develop new methods of construction, modern materials. In this regard, the inventions of our scientists in the production of building materials, cement-free wall stones, concrete and raw mixes, which are characterized by a substantially reduced cost of production, are of particular importance. In addition, in April 2017, the university started the first line for the production of construction products made of lightweight concrete.
