A round table “Alash movement and independent Kazakhstan: Historical interrelation and succession“ was held at S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University on the day before.

The event is timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Alash Autonomy, and was held within the framework of the “Rukhani Zhahgyru” program. The Institute of History and Culture and the Department of the History of Kazakhstan of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University were an organizers of the event.

The scientists of the university, leaders of ethno-cultural associations, political scientists, representatives of the public and students gathered for discussion at the round table. 

The head of the department of Kazakh language and Journalism, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Professor Ayman Zeynulina, Doctor of Philological Sciences Aytmukhamet Trushev, senior lecturer of the Department of history of Kazakhstan Aslan Azerbayev and others spoke about the influence of the Alash intelligentsia on the development of the national language and culture, as well as on the moral foundations of Alash rule.

A special attention was paid to the prospect of studying the history of Alash movement and autonomy and the importance of its ideas in modern Kazakhstan.

According to the director of the Institute of History and Culture of Kazakhstan, Candidate of Historical Sciences. Kairat Battalov, the initiators and followers of the idea of Alash autonomy are an example of patriotism. Research and propaganda of the Alash movement is one of the main topics in historical science. There are many unsolved questions, the study of which is necessary for the building of a more detailed historical picture.
