Gaukhar Akhmetova is appointed as a rector of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University.

The new head of the university was introduced by the director of the Department of Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gulzat Kobenova and the deputy akim of Pavlodar region Meiram Begentayev.

Gaukhar Galymovna Akhmetova graduated with honors from Pavlodar Pedagogical Institute, faculty of pedagogy and methods of elementary education and music. In 2001 she graduated from the postgraduate education at LN. Gumilyov Eurasian University, majoring in History of Philosophy. Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Associate Professor. The owner of the "Bolashak" Presidential Scholarship. In 2014, she was recognized as an Honored Worker of the Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In different years she held important posts, working as the head of the department of "Philosophy and Social and Humanitarian Disciplines", Vice-Rector for Academic Work of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University.

Deputy akim of Pavlodar region Meiram Begentayev in his speech noted that "Elections for the post of rector were held on the principle of meritocracy," and also stressed that Gaukhar Akhmetova became the first woman-rector of Pavlodar State University.

In addition, the appointment of a Vice-rector for academic work at S.Toraighyrov PSU was held on this day. Petr Bykov has held this post, who had previously worked as director of the Registrar's office.

Gulzat Kobenova and Meiram Begentayev noted the big importance of PSU in the social and scientific life of the region and expressed confidence that the new head and staff of the university will support the region in implementing all shaped plans within the framework of the State Programs.
