The regional research and practice conference "Tugan zher" - my history, my culture, my region devoted to the implementation of the "Tugan zher" program, was held at S. Toraighyrov PSU.

The "Tugan zher" program, specified in the article of the Head of State "A look into the future: modernization of public consciousness", provides for great work in the sphere of education, in the ecological sphere, community redevelopment, as well as the reconstruction of cultural sites and historical monuments. One of such examples was an exhibition of local history objects from the collection of the Pavlodar House of Geography and the Regional Archaeological Center "Margulancenter".

Welcoming the audience and guests, Bulat Bakauov, akim of Pavlodar region, member of the National Commission for the implementation of the program of modernization of public consciousness under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, noted that in the region educational and local lore work is developed, cooperation is being conducted with entrepreneurs wishing to improve their region. 

The conference was attended by representatives of public authorities, non-governmental organizations, public councils, the regional council of veterans, representatives from Astana, deputies of the regional maslikhat, akims of cities and districts of the region, representatives of the clergy.

During the plenary session, issues of development of caravanning and caravanning, the role of new media in rise of the tourist attractiveness of the region, developing volunteering and other questions were considered.

The conference continued with the work of sectional meetings, where cultural and scientific workers discussed educational projects, studying regional geography, history and folklore as part of the "Tugan zher" program.
