An open interregional freestyle wrestling tournament in memory of Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aset Beysekin was held at S.Toraighyrov PSU.

The tournament was attended by 280 athletes from Astana, Atyrau, Aktau, Kokshetau, Shymkent, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kostanai, North Kazakhstan region. In addition there were teams from Russia (Republic of Sakha, Yakutia). At the competition the athletes "fought" in sixteen weight categories.

Aset Beysekin was born on January 20, 1982 in Pavlodar region, Irtysh area. In 2003 he reached a qualifying standard of master of sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He worked as a trainer in the Specialized Children and Youth Sports School of the Olympic Reserve of Pavlodar.

Commenting the results of competitions, international referee Yerzhan Kistaubaev, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of Pavlodar State University noted that the competition is held to promote the freestyle wrestling among the younger generation:

"Asset Beysekin by personal example tempered in his pupils a sporting spirit and the will to win. Not all of the pupils will be athletes, but I'm sure that they will be true citizens of their country. At the same time, the tournament is a clear confirmation, that the sport work with young people is extremely important component of the daily life of society" .
