A roundtable on Spiritual and Moral Values of Youth was held at S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University.

The roundtable was moderated by Head of the Department of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Saule Mamytova. In the course of her speech, Saule Nassenovna noted that the issue of peaceful coexistence of different confessions took on enormous significance against the backdrop of recent events. According to her, students realize that religious intolerance and xenophobia have caused irreparable damage to many countries. “According to the results of a social survey held among students, the youth unanimously agree that a person should find the time to widen his or her outlook on world confessions, thus, learning to judge situations relating to interreligious relations rightly,” said Saule Nassenovna.

Head of the Division of the Public Prosecution Department of Pavlodar oblast Serik Aliyev and Director of the Center for Analysis and Development of Inter-Ethnic Relations of the Religious Affairs Department of Pavlodar oblast Gulnaz Razdykova took part in the work of the roundtable. Also, the representative of the Anti-Terrorism Committee affiliated with the National Security Committee of Pavlodar oblast Askar Rakhimzhanov and distinguished theologists, Zholdas kazhy Bertymuratov and Karlygash Kazhymalikkyzy, delivered their speeches to the audience. 

Keynote speakers told about the anti- terrorism and extremism activity carried out in Pavlodar oblast, acquainted students with the list of sects and religious streams forbidden by decision of a court and emphasized the importance of adherence to the ideals of peace, national cohesiveness and interreligious tolerance. 

The roundtable featured the speeches on the issues and ways of formation of spiritual and moral values of youth delivered by the chairman of the Birlik Student Assembly Ramil Smailov and a master’s student majoring in Psychology and Pedagogy Diana Satbayeva. 

Participants of the roundtable made a number of suggestions on improvement of the current state of youth policy in connection with interreligious relations.
