The Rector of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University, Aryn Orsariyev, visited Colorado School of Mines.
As of today, Colorado School of Mines is one of the best universities in the field of development of the mining industry, energy sector and ecology.
Aryn Orsariyev had a meeting with Anthony Dean, Vice-President for Research and Organization of Joint Projects in the Fields of Renewable Energy, Petrochemistry, Metallurgy, etc.
The university administration demonstrated their work on the development of innovative renewable energy technologies. During the meeting, they told a lot about their experience in the field of innovative technologies in petrochemistry and metallurgy, the industries that are very important for our region. The meeting resulted in agreement on inviting professors from Colorado to Pavlodar State University.
“As a result of the meeting with professors Nigel Middleton, Senior Vice President for Strategic Enterprises, and Barry Martin, Director for Additional Education Programs, we have reached an agreement to hold special courses in metallurgy, energy engineering and petrochemistry for PSU students and academic staff,” said Aryn Orsariyev.
“Our main task is not limited to staff training only, as we are also responsible for ensuring research-intensity of the region’s economy. We need to study the models of integration of science, education and industry in the best universities of the world. This process has become a factor of innovation development for many countries,” he added.
Besides, owing to the agreement reached between Aryn Orsariyev and Ramona Graves, Dean of the College of Earth Resource Sciences and Engineering, students from PSU can now enter Colorado School of Mines under the Bolashak program.
