The team of S. Toraighyrov PSU won the Zhas Tolkyn national student competition established by the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Leader of the Nation. It was held as a part of the National Student Festival.
The competition is held in order to promote creative thinking and comprehensive personal development among students.
S. Toraighyrov PSU was represented by Duldilder, a team composed of students from the Faculty of Agricultural Technology headed by Deputy Dean Zhastlek Uakhitov.
Besides PSU students, the competition was attended by 11 teams from different universities of Kazakhstan: Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (Almaty), T.Ryskulov New Economic University (Almaty), Abai Pedagogical University (Almaty), Kazakh-Russian International University (Aktobe), Caspian University (Almaty).
The competition included several stages. First, there was a qualifying round where teams' applications were checked for compliance with the eligibility criteria. This stage also included a preliminary assessment of presentations for the innovative projects competition (“The Idea Worth Millions”).
In the second round, teams held presentations of their videos devoted to student life, took part in the speech contest devoted to education and science in the context of the Bologna process, pros and cons. Then there was a final presentation of innovative projects. Students also had to do some tests in theoretical disciplines.
According to Zhastlek Uakhitov, all tasks were difficult. It wasn’t easy for the team of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University to reach the final of the competition, but in the end they won the main prize. “Our students had a good experience of preparation and participation in such competitions, enriched their intellectual potential and made friends with students from other universities,” he said.
