Students, faculty and staff members of S. Toraighyrov PSU participated in the “20 Good Deeds” charity event timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan People's Assembly.

PSU members collected food products, clothes, and toys to help the Center for Rehabilitation and Adaptation of Women with no Fixed Abode.

The Center is available for all women aged 18 and older and women with minor children temporarily left homeless as a result of violent acts. The center is designed to shelter up to 30 people.

“Here women can talk to a local police officer. We provide legal, medical and psychological care until full social assistance is provided and women are employed,” said Irina Farkhudinova, a specialist of the Center.

“Having spent one month in the Center, many women look at their lives in a completely different way. The main thing for us is that we can help people. Many women in Pavlodar still don't know about the existence of the Center, but there's no doubt that the city needs such an organization,” said Gulfayrus Zhapekova, the Head of the Department of Kazakhstan People's Assembly at S. Toraighyrov PSU, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor.
