4 academics from S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University won the 2014 Best HEI Lecturer competition.
The following members of S. Toraighyrov PSU won this prestigious award and grants from the Ministry of Education and Science: Mukhabbat Baratova, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Kazakh Philology, Dinara Yesimova, Candidate of Pedagogic Sciences, Head of the Department of Geography and Tourism, Vasiliy Krivoruchko, Doctor of Pedagogic Sciences, Professor of the Department of Mathematics and Informatics, Antonina Tsaregorodtseva, Candidate of Geographic Sciences, Professor of the Department of Geography and Tourism.
The Best HEI Lecturer competition makes it possible for academics to realize their creative potential and enhance international cooperation. It also promotes professional development of specialists in accordance with the requirements of international conventions on new fields of science.
Antonina Tsaregorodtseva amits, “This competition encourages lecturers to go forward, improve their knowledge and skills and constantly raise their professional level. Moreover, it helps us adapt to international standards of education.”
According to Nurlan Yerzhanov, the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation at S. Toraighyrov PSU, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, in this competition, a great attention is paid to research activities carried out by HEI academics. PSU members have an advantage in this field as the University provides vast opportunities for research activities. “Over the past two years, the number of state-funded research projects has increased significantly. Undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students of the University take an active part in these projects. All academics are encouraged to publish their works in top-rated research journals. Another factor that contributes to professional development of PSU members is participation of the University in the Program on Inviting Foreign Academics and Consultants to the Leading Universities of Kazakhstan initiated by the Ministry of Education and Science. Last year, over 60 academics from many famous universities of the world visited PSU.”
Owing to these grants, academics will be able to continue their research and have internships in leading universities of the world. Moreover, winners will take part in international and domestic conferences, symposia, congresses and workshops devoted to their respective fields, as well as organization of educational process. This will also help in implementation of joint research projects and exchange of experiences among scientists and experts in various fields of education.
