As a part of the program for dual education development, for the first time in its history, the Department of Metallurgy held the defense of their students' graduation projects at KSP Steel LLP, one of the largest metallurgical companies of our region.

The history of dual education development at S. Toraighyrov PSU began on January 15, 2013 with adoption of the Dual Education Development Concept for 2013-2020.

The main objective of this concept is to increase competitiveness of the University students by means of ensuring parallel education at S. Toraighyrov PSU and leading industrial companies of our region.

The main tasks of the Dual Education Development Concept are:

- training specialists meeting the requirements of employers;

- motivating students to get an in-demand speciality and providing additional employment opportunities;

- creation of additional opportunities for increasing the effectiveness of training highly-qualified specialists;

- ensuring interrelation, interpenetration and mutual interference of different systems (science and education, science and production), leading to qualitative changes in professional education.

The Department of Metallurgy has been successfully realizing its dual education program in cooperation with KSP Steel LLP since the 2012-2013 academic year. Students majoring in 5B070900 Metallurgy and 5В072400 Technological Machines and Equipment had practical and laboratory classes in special disciplines (Steel Electrometallurgy, Out-of-Furnace Melt Processing, Rolling, Metal-forming Machines, Mechanical Equipment for Metal Production, Rolling Technology, Pipe and Tube Production Technology) taught right at the production shops, laboratories and training center of KSP Steel LLP.

This year KSP Steel LLP hosted graduation projects defense of students majoring in 5B070900 Metallurgy and 5В072400 Technological Machines and Equipment: Dana Rakhimova, Darya Ezupenok, Gulnara Nurgaliyeva, Roman Mayerenko, Aynur Kuanova and Olzhas Omarov.

The subjects of students' graduation projects correspond to the field of Company's activities.

According to the Head of Professional Training Department of KSP Steel LLP Nailya Zagrutdinova, cooperation between S. Toraighyrov PSU and KSP Steel LLP within the dual education program helps the Company get highly-skilled specialists who have all necessary competencies to work for KSP Steel LLP.
