A session of the University Board of Trustees took place at PSU on September 11, 2013. The Deputy Akim of the Pavlodar region Aryn Orsariyev participated in the session.

The Board of Trustees of S. Toraighyrov PSU was established in accordance with the decision made by the Academic Council of the University on February 27, 2013. Its main objectives are guiding the strategic development of the University, providing assistance in the academic field, improving the facilities and expanding the resource base of the University, providing financial support, facilitating an effective cooperation with regional government agencies, institutions, organizations and commercial companies.

The Board is a collective management body designed to solve urgent problems of the University in order to ensure its competitiveness in the domestic and international markets of educational services and research.

The following problems were considered during the session of the Board of Trustees: the strategic priorities of S. Toraighyrov PSU as a research university of innovative type, the mechanisms and methodology of representing the interests of the University in the business community.

The Rector of S. Toraighyrov PSU Serik Omirbayev proposed to establish bilateral cooperation between the University and the largest commercial companies of the region. He also assured the participants of the session that PSU will carry out targeted training of future specialists taking into account the demands of the employers. “The laboratories of Pavlodar State Universities will be re-equipped in order to meet their demands. Moreover, they will participate in development of professional standards and educational programs of the University, which will allow the companies of our region to get highly qualified specialists educated in accordance with the standards of the future employers”, said Serik Omirbayev.

The session of the Board of Trustees was attended by prominent public figures and directors of large companies of our region: Deputy Akim of the Pavlodar region Aryn Orsariyev, Rector of Pavlodar State University Serik Omirbayev, Director of Ekibastiz SDPS-2 JSC Vladimir Belov, Director General of Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant JSC Shukhrat Danbay, Director of Neftekhim LTD LLP Yerlan Kusanov, Director General of the regional telecommunications board Abylay Seytzhanov, Director General of Kazenergocabel JSC Oleg Krug, and Director of Pavlodar Cardboard and Ruberoid Plant Nikolay Shabrat.

As a result of the meeting, the activity plan of PSU Board of Trustees for the 2013-2014 academic year was adopted.
