As part of the "Digital Nauryznama" decade, Toraighyrov University hosted a meaningful cultural and educational event to celebrate the Day of Renewal, initiated by the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences. By intertwining the ideas of nature's revival and spiritual elevation, the event aimed to promote national values and develop an environmental culture among the youth.
The program opened with a theatrical performance depicting the continuity of national worldview and traditions, providing a comprehensive insight into the essence of the Day of Renewal. Participants gained educational information about the lifestyle, spiritual heritage, and generational continuity of the Kazakh people.
In addition, the faculty departments organized a series of masterclasses. During a practical session on planting tree saplings, the importance of nature conservation and urban greening was explained. Furthermore, educational lectures were held regarding the food preparation and preservation traditions of nomadic people, demonstrating effective ways to use traditional tools.
One of the most engaging parts of the program was a masterclass on preparing the national dish, talkan. Participants learned about its preparation methods, nutritional value, and its significant role in Kazakh daily life.
Another aspect of traditional culinary culture was also introduced during the event. Participants were shown the technique of preserving butter inside a stomach (karyn) and the technology behind its preparation. Dishes made from millet (tary) and tea with millet were also served. Guests were invited to taste a mixture of millet and butter to experience its unique flavor and nutritional harmony. During the masterclass, the health benefits of these national products were explained from a scientific perspective, emphasizing their importance as natural, nutritious examples of the "authentic Kazakh healthy diet."
The event fostered a sense of environmental stewardship, respect for national heritage, and a drive for unity among young people. In conclusion, the festive relay was passed to the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
