Toraighyrov University held an operational meeting following the extended board session. Deans, vice-deans, heads of departments, and leaders of structural divisions gathered to define key development priorities and set clear objectives for the upcoming period.
During the meeting, participants focused on implementing the priorities announced by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the initiative “Higher Education and Science: Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence.” The Ministry launched this initiative to modernize higher education, strengthen research capacity, and accelerate digital transformation. In response, the university leadership outlined strategic steps to align institutional development with national goals.
The participants examined modern requirements for training next-generation specialists. They emphasized the need to update academic programs, align curricula with labor market demands, enhance academic quality, and strengthen students’ digital competencies. University leaders noted that comprehensive action in these areas will increase graduates’ competitiveness and help meet regional and national workforce needs.
The discussion also covered strategic research priorities. The university plans to increase research productivity, improve project commercialization mechanisms, and expand international scientific partnerships. Participants stressed the importance of strengthening collaboration between academia and industry to enhance the practical impact of research.
Digital transformation remained a central focus. The university will continue developing its digital infrastructure, upgrading educational platforms, and automating management processes. These efforts will improve both academic quality and institutional efficiency.
In addition, the leadership addressed the “Study in Kazakhstan” initiative and explored strategies to attract international students and expand academic mobility. The university aims to strengthen its global reputation and actively promote its educational programs on the international stage.
At the conclusion of the meeting, university leaders assigned specific tasks to structural divisions and called for systematic implementation of the outlined priorities. These actions will drive the university’s strategic growth and elevate its performance in education and research to a new level.
