From January 12 to 14, 2026, Toraighyrov University hosted a Winter School for young teachers and researchers titled «Teaching Tools and Prospects in Science». This educational platform was designed to facilitate exchange of professional experience, strengthen the academic community, and develop the pedagogical and research potential of young specialists.
The main objective of the Winter School was to establish professional dialogue among young teachers and researchers within the higher education system, master modern teaching tools, integrate essential skills for academic and pedagogical activities, also to create an environment of professional support and inspiration.
The main track of the event called «The First Steps: Lecturer’s Tools, Experience, and Resource Capacity» was specifically designed for young teaching staff. The program content was developed in line with current higher education requirements and covered digital pedagogy, assessment systems, teaching methodologies, and issues of personal development.
On the first day, special attention was given to the effective use of digital learning tools. The development of video lectures and online courses was presented by Nazira Ospanova, Aizhan Kairbaeva, and Raushan Kuanysheva. In addition, Saduakas Baizhumanov and Meirbek Beisenov shared their experience in working with the educational portal.
A series of special sessions devoted to methods of assessing students' academic achievements took place.
- Issues of alternative assessment approaches, effective feedback, and criteria-based assessment were thoroughly discussed by Sandygul Mustafina and Saule Ksembayeva.
- A lecture on the concept and essence of the «Tolyq adam» was delivered by Aiman Zeinullina.
- A lecture on the culture of interaction with students was conducted by PhD, Professor Nelli Pigovayeva.
Issues related to planning the educational process, developing syllabi, and designing course content based on learning outcomes were also addressed. Practical sessions in this area were conducted by Svetlana Khassenova and Gulmira Tulekova. In addition, as part of Health Day, a volleyball sports activity was organized for the participants.
This initiative is part of a systematic set of measures aimed at supporting the successful integration of young professionals into the academic environment, strengthening internal professional cooperation within the university, and enhancing the competitiveness of the national higher education system.
