The working visit to Toraigyrov University by Sanjar Zharkeshov, Vice-Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, opens up new opportunities for the development of the region's energy and chemical industries. The meeting was attended by the university's teaching staff, Dean of the Faculty of Energy Olzhas Talipov, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences Madeniet Elubai, and foreign scientists, who discussed in details the training of industry specialists.

Pavlodar Region is the country’s largest industrial hub, concentrating oil-chemical, gas-chemical, coal-chemical, and energy sectors. Therefore, these industries require timely and highly qualified personnel. With this in mind, the head of the university, Nurlan Medetov, presented the personnel and scientific potential of Toraighyrov University in these areas.

During the meeting, the university’s potential in training specialists for the oil, gas, and chemical industries, the alignment of its educational programs with industry requirements, and the consistency of its scientific research with sectoral needs were discussed. In this context, the faculties’ laboratory facilities, the experience of the teaching staff, and the practical training of students were presented through concrete examples.

In addition, the issue of timely training specialists in the energy, oil-chemical, and coal-chemical sectors was considered in connection with the ministry's plans to implement new investment projects. It was noted that the expected growth of energy and chemical production facilities in the region in the coming years requires strengthening the role of universities in preventing a shortage of qualified personnel.

Another important aspect of the meeting was the possibility of involving Toraighyrov University scholars in drafting the new law “On Petrochemicals and Gas Chemistry.” The Vice-Minister emphasized that the university's academic community can contribute valuable insights, and that jointly improving sectoral legislation will elevate cooperation between education and industry to a new level.

Taking into account the potential of Toraighyrov University and the specifics of the region, Sanjar Zharkeshov stressed the importance of further strengthening the strategic partnership between the ministry and the university.

This meeting is a clear reflection of Toraighyrov University’s ongoing contribution to national industrial and innovative development. The university will continue systematically training of highly qualified specialists for the energy, petrochemical, and coal-chemical sectors, playing an active role in providing personnel support for the country’s new economic projects
